We know. You're tired of hearing about "these strange and difficult times." Or maybe it's "these unprecedented and trying times."
We don't want to downplay the very real burdens that the past year has come with, but one of those burdens is that we're always being reminded, everywhere we look, that things are not as they should be, could be, or were.
In a very real way, these reminders add to the anxiety and weight that so many of us feel.
Fortunately, there is a selection of Bible-centric, hope-focused books about mental health that are written to the lonely and the discouraged - that are written with love and filled with both compassion and practical insight.
As pastor and psychotherapist Ryan Casey Waller says, "Mental health issues are not a symptom of a spiritual failing or insufficient faith; rather, suffering is the very thing our Savior seeks to heal as he leads us toward restoration."
