One of Sandra's most brilliant moments of parenting came when the boys were eight and ten years old. She and I went out for the evening, and our longtime babysitter Pam looked after the kids. When we walked through the door at the end of the night, we followed the usual script, asking her, "How'd it go? Was everyone well behaved?" Typically, Pam cheerfully reported that everything had been great. This time, however, she said, "Well, the boys …" She was reluctant to fill in the details of their misdeeds but eventually did. And it wasn't good. They had been extremely disrespectful to her. |

We live in a world in which there is no lack of things to worry about. We encounter financial and health challenges, relational difficulties, pandemics, and political polarization, to name a few. We also internally wrestle with questions, such as "Who am I?" "What am I to do?" "How am I to be loved?" and "How can I become all that God intended me to be?" Each of these circumstances creates uncertainty, and often our instinctive response is to worry. Scripture, however, exhorts us not to worry, and so we even worry sometimes about our worrying! The Bible has a great deal to say about worry! I'll explore what Scripture says about this issue and how we can prevent it from robbing us of joy and peace. |

Technology is a tool that helps us live out our God-given callings. This is one of the most important things for us to learn as we engage the topic of technology and artificial intelligence. Because we often see the tremendous power that technology has over our lives, we are tempted to treat technology as more than a tool, as something with a value similar to our own if it is powerful enough or does enough work on its own. Technology will be misused and abused by broken people just like you and me. |
