I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God, and the God of your descendants. — Genesis 17:7 When you look back at your life, who are the people who shared Jesus with you? In my own life, the people who were most impactful as Jesus Followers weren't always people with ministry titles. They were simply people who showed me who Jesus was and how to love Him, live like Him, and love like Him. They oozed Jesus from their pores! I don't know about you, but the legacy that matters the most to me is a legacy of faith. It's what I pray to pass on to my own children, just like the generations before did for me. When we leave this earth, the things that will last aren't the photo albums, mementos, or treasures that we've collected over time, but the faithful story of what Jesus has done in our lives. And that's why I'm so excited to invite you to join us for our summer Online Bible Study Jesus Followers with Anne Graham Lotz and her daughter, Rachel-Ruth Lotz Wright, starting June 12th! This study is going to direct us in beautiful ways how to ignite and fan the flames of faith in the next generation and leave a legacy of faith in our families, no matter what age and stage we're in. And it starts with us, friends, as we learn to intentionally follow Jesus in our Witness, Worship, Walk, and Work. You want to exude Jesus and make him so infectious that everyone in your family wants what you have? With Anne Graham Lotz and Rachel Ruth as our guides, this five-week Bible study will focus on these 4 W's: - Witness
- Worship
- Walk, and
- Work
… to growing in our personal relationship with Christ and creating lives that model and pour out a vibrant, contagious faith! |
In case you didn't know, our Bible teachers are Anne Graham Lotz, the daughter of Dr. Billy Graham and Ruth Graham, and Rachel-Ruth is their granddaughter (more details on their ministries and full bios below). The study was filmed at the family homestead in North Carolina, in the house where Anne was raised, and it's going to be such an inspiration for you as they share family stories, ideas, and biblical encouragement about creating a family legacy of faith. "Best of all, you'll realize as you read that you don't have to be Billy and Ruth Graham to raise godly children, as long as you embrace the wisdom and guidance of their God!"—Richard Blackaby, coauthor of Experiencing God and Experiencing God at Home I remember as a little girl listening to my Granddaddy, Ray Ortlund, preach at Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena, CA. (Actually, what I mostly did was scribble on the giving envelopes with the tiny pencils each pew held. But, his words sank into me.) Much more impactful than the memories of his preaching at a mega-church, though, were the times we drove down to Crystal Cove in Newport Beach and walked along the shore examining tide pools and all the tiny, colorful, beautiful creatures and talking about how amazing God is. His passion for Jesus and the Kingdom of God away from the pulpit was what became embossed on my heart. I remember my Poppy (dad) preaching week after week and year after year at the Vineyard in Newport Beach, too, which shaped my life indelibly. But, watching him love Jesus out-loud and love others sacrificially in his every-day life is what set me on course to choose Jesus and walk with Him. But there were also everyday people in my life who made such an impact on my faith. Scrolling through the rolodex in my memory, the people who showed me who Jesus was and how to love Him, live like Him, and love like Him are stay-at-home moms, real estate agents, a travel enthusiast, several professors, business professionals, a librarian, and a butcher. They are people like you and me who decided to take up the Baton of Faith and pass it on effectively and intentionally. As God's people, we have work to do! Important work! Do this study on your own, with your small group, your entire church, or as a multi-generational study! Invite everyone – it's the perfect summer study for every age + stage in your family! I hope you join us as we lean in, learn, and get fired up to pass the torch of faith to next generation. |
