Positive human interaction flourishes with order

The nature of human action and interaction requires a reign of law or orderliness. This predictable order makes it possible to set goals, plan their realization, learn from one's mistakes, and above all interact with other persons to form a community. Even a family (perhaps especially a family) cannot properly form without a framework of established and commonly known rules and expectations. The free, conscious engagement of individual personality with its surroundings is required. But if you can't count on consistent responses to your actions, it becomes impossible to learn what actions are appropriate. How would you feel if you stepped on the accelerator and the car came to a screeching halt, or if you poured water on a fire and the flames flared up as if you had poured gasoline on them? How do you know what you are supposed to do to achieve the desired result in each situation? You would become paralyzed by fear of the unknown consequences of each possible action.
